Brunei journey, enjoy the splendor architecture EP.1

(EP.1 Here we are, first night at Brunei.)

We would like to travel around Thai neighbor countries, to see lifestyle, culture and new idea for business. May be we should started from finding a new friend first. Even Bahasa Melayu is an official language, but Chinese and English is also widely used for communication. Therefore, Bruneians are exellent in English.

Brunei is famous in architectures, each place is decorated with pure gold and fine jewellery, it’s truly remarkable. So if you visit Brunei, you would see Brunei splendid architecture for sure. Brunei is one of Thailand neighbor countries, located on Borneo island in South China sea. Brunei official name is Negara Brunei Darussalam, capital is Bandar Seri Begawan.

We arrived hotel in evening, looking for dinner near hotel. We have no idea about Brunei’s food. So after found familiar restaurants close to the hotel, which are KFC, Pizza hut and Mcdonald’s, we had dinner at KFC for the first meal. For your information, let’s see Brunei famous dishes.

Ambuyat, Brunei national dish is made from sticky starch like Thai’s porridge but much more viscous. Mainly made from Tapioca or called Sago starch, known as Ambuyat starch. It has no taste so you have to eat with sauces and side dish such as vegetables, grilled pandan leaf-wrapped meat or deep fried meat. A dish that must try when visit Brunei.

After dinner, we took a walk and saw a marvelous night scene. So we searching on Google and know the name of a splendid architecture, it’s ‘Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque’. The most important place for Islamic in Brunei. Everyone who visit Brunei must take a photo of mosque. Here’s the night view of the mosque. Tomorrow morning, we will come again and do sightseeing inside the mosque.

Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque is located in the middle of Bandar Seri Begawan city, the capital of Brunei. Tomorrow we’ll see the mosque day view.

Small tips for the tourists who interested in travelling to Brunei, there is 14days free visa exception for Thai tourists. But if you visit Brunei for other purpose such as working or studying, the visa is required. You can proceed at the Embassy of Brunei in Thailand.
