Hoi An is the small city in the South China Sea , located in the middle of Vietnam in the Kwangnam Province with the population of 80,000 people. Now Hoi An has become one of the most famous tourist destination in Vietnam. As this tiny city has the original beauty of wooden-made housing , Unesco and Polish Government initiated the project for the city restoration and protect the old own to preserve the city of Hoi An.
Hoi An is situated on the Tubon River close to the coast. It was the biggest port of Southeast Asia, and was very famous in the name of Fai Fo Hoi which was the center of culture exchange between east and west. However, afterthat Hoi An had been destroyed from the wars and the tide was getting lower. So they moved the port to Danang instead, Hoi An then got quieter.
The old town of Hoi An is preserved, the cars and motorbikes are not allowed, only by foot and by bicycle. The housing around will be colorful and many lamps decorated all over for when the sunset they will light them up nicely. The most interesting thing is the combination of cultures from China, Japan and Vietnam.

Japanese bridge that was built by Japanese people in the curvy style and covered with green and yellow tiles and on the middle, there is the square shape pagoda to connect Japanese and Chinese parts.
Juafugian is the family house that was built in 2335(Buddhist year) at the Tunfu street. It is the meeting point of the immigrants from Fugian who has the same last name.
Travel to Hoi An
Traveling by plane will be more convenient than by land as the city is on the northeast of Vietnam which is quiet far. From Bangkok, you can fly to Saigon then take domestic flight to Danang and continue with bus around 40 miniutes.
